Mother's Day past by and I hope the moms out there had a really nice day/weekend.  My Wife is an avid gardener and I do love what she can do with plants and flowers.  BUT, I hate to garden myself lol.  So though she's a mom, but not my mom obviously, I still see the mother in her as she brings life to our home with color in the garden each spring. I still haven't started a real art piece.  The female face I just submitted is in my sketch book.  The picture isn't bad.  I like it, but I feel I really need to do something solid!  Why I don't I don't know. Anyhow the weather here where I live has been wonderful mostly.  And there's much to do.

Ok, new at art or not, it's time to take the plunge. I've been sketching and playing with watercolors and acrylics for a few weeks now.   I think it's time to attempt a real painting. I bring this up because just today i realized that I'm hiding behind my practicing!   For me, practicing is easy.   If I make a mistake, who cares?  It's just practice work and we expect errors in this.   After all, no errors means you're not trying something new right? But creating a final art piece means you created the best you could at that time.   Also, any mistakes you see should be corrected, and that means extra work.   I also feel legitimate tho

So for me, here living North West of Seattle WA, Spring is here.  New green everywhere, flowers planted, how can I not be thinking of the outdoors and the garden.  (I don't garden I hate gardening lol), My wife gardens but I love how it looks. So today I decided to take the plunge and dirty up my new, very nice sketch book. So go outside and play folks.  Smile at one another and have fun and get inspired!
